We the People: Towards a New Definition

We the People was an audience piece commissioned for the Ship in the Woods Music and Art Festival June 16 and 17, 2018. This project was designed to engage my audience in conversation around the ever changing definition of “We the People”. The piece was inspired by On Tyranny by Timothy Snyder. Audience members were given a blank postcard and the following instructions:

1. Consider the proposition, “We the People are...” 

2. Write your response on a postcard. 

3. Hang the postcard on the clothesline. 

4. Take a badge to indicate your participation. 

5. Wear it on your clothing.
